KIMBERLEY SCHOOL AND THE COMMUNITYEXTENDED SERVICESClick here for extended services. SCHOOL GOVERNING BODYThe Governing Body is responsible for most aspects of policy regarding the school. Governors meet on a regular basis, either as a full group or in one of four sub- committees (Discipline, Finance and General Purposes; Personnel and Pupils; Curriculum). The twenty members include six Parent Governors, elected by parents/carers at the school. A full list of current Governors is included in the pack with this brochure. An Annual Report is issued to parents/carers early in the Autumn Term prior to the Annual Meeting for Parents. Parents/Carers are encouraged to attend this important meeting. KIMBERLEY SCHOOL ASSOCIATIONThe Kimberley School Association is a PTA that supports the school in many ways. In addition to raising large sums of money to assist with school projects, the association organises educational and social events. All parents/carers are welcome at any meeting or event organised by the association. KIMBERLEY FAMILY OF SCHOOLSThe ten schools in the Kimberley Family arrange a number of activities and meetings for staff to ensure continuity between phases as mentioned earlier in the brochure. CHARITY FUND RAISINGThe school organises a number of fund raising events for both local, national and international charities. We have a developing link with a school in Burkina-Faso, West Africa and recent fund-raising has been directed towards supporting this school. Over £25,000 has been raised in school during ‘Comic Relief’ days. LETTINGS ARRANGEMENTSThe school is used during the evenings and at weekends by a number of organisations for educational, sporting or recreational activities. It is possible to hire rooms/facilities in school. Please contact the school for further details. SCHOOL FUNDIn addition to the public funds used to finance the school, we also run a not-for-profit charify known as the 'Kimberley School Fund'. Trustees of the School Fund are responsble for fundraising. Also, many school trips are run though the School Fund, such as the recent successful trips abroad to Germany and Spain. Accounts for the fund are examined annually. The fund is controlled by a committee of trustees drawn from staff, students and parental representatives. Money raised is used to directly benefit students in the school. Donations to this fund are welcomed.
