Broxtowe Women's Project - Challenging Domestic Violence www.broxtowewomensproject.org.uk
www.thehideout.org.uk - The Hideout is the first national website for children and young people to inform about domestic violence and help them identify whether it is happening in their home. The site provides indirect and informal support to children and young people living with domestic violence or to those who may want to help a friend.
The Nat Puri Community and Education Centre
The Community Room has now been in use since June and is proving very popular and is used by many community groups. The room can be booked for use by community groups or businesses and is equipped with 12 laptops, an interactive whiteboard and projector. It has its own entrance, kitchen and toilet facilities and is completely separate from the school. It is available from 8.30 am to 9.30 pm all week. Early booking is advisable.
Courses, classes and Other Activities
'Tracing Your Family Tree' - This course started on April 24th for 10 weeks, 1 pm to 3 pm. There are still places available, if you wish to join please telephone Castle College on (0115) 884 2477/2749.

STUDENTS, PARENTS/CARERS AND TEACHERS BENEFIT FROM: EDUCATION WELFARE SERVICE The Schools Education Welfare Officer interviews parents/carers, students and makes home visits, if necessary. EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY SERVICE The Educational Psychologist makes regular visits to talk with teachers, students and parents/carers. CHILD HEALTH SERVICE The School Nurse is available to help sick and injured students. There are also staff trained in First Aid always on hand. ADVISORY AND INSPECTION SERVICE Supports Teachers and School in keeping quality and standards high. As well as benefiting from Inspectors with subject expertise, the School has the support of the Broxtowe Secondary Phase Inspector. EDUCATION LIBRARY SERVICE Support for the School Librarian and Teachers, and a loan system for the school library. ELEVENTH SESSION WORKSHOPS Runs Art and Design, Drama, Theatre and Dance, Music Workshops. IN-SERVICE TRAINING Teachers and other staff attend a significant number of courses regularly to enable them to build on their skills.
