Message from the Head Boy & Head Girl of 2020
Is your child in Year 6? Do you want your child to join Kimberley School in September 2022?
You have made the right choice. Kimberley is a high attaining school that aims to get the balance right between academic excellence and the wider personal development that every child needs to prepare them for a successful adult life. The information on this page will tell you how you can find out more about our great school and get answers to all the questions you and your child will have about joining us next year.
Why is Open Evening online this year?
In the absence of any national guidance we have to navigate our own way through how we will run parents’ events during this term. The Year 6 Open Evening is a huge event that brings together children and families from primary schools across Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City. Having undertaken a risk assessment we do not feel that we could run such an event safely on our school site.
Our priority this year is, following 18 months of disruption, to get our students quickly back on track to academic and social success and we are concerned that holding such an event could lead to increased staff and student absence. We do understand that some children and families will be disappointed that they are not able to visit the school at this stage. We are also disappointed that we are unable to invite you into school. Choosing a secondary school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. In these difficult circumstances we will do all that we can to provide you with the information that you need to help you make this choice.

My child has a Special Educational Need or Disability and I would like the opportunity to speak to someone in school.
Please phone the school reception on 0115 9387000 and ask to speak to either Karen Layton, Learning Support Leader, or Helen Charton, Assistant SENCo, who will be happy to help you.
