Code of Conduct

Here at The Kimberley School, we believe it is the right of every student to be able to do their best and nobody has the right to interfere with their learning. This is why there is a calm, work focused atmosphere around the school.  Learning is at the very core of what we do and we want all students to enjoy it. The Student Council created a Mission Statement which sets out the role that they expect all students to play in creating an atmosphere where everyone can be safe, happy and successful at the Kimberley School

"As students of The Kimberley School, we strive to work to the best of our ability and achieve our maximum potential. It is our responsibility to create an environment that allows productive and independent learning. This can be accomplished through respect and determination from us all.

At The Kimberley School we have high expectations and want to build on the great work that pupils and staff have achieved over the years, with our GCSE and A Level results still being above the national average."

Our Behaviour Policy also sets out The Kimberley Diamond Rules:

  • Arrive at lessons on time

  • Line up quietly for lessons

  • Always wear your uniform correctly

  • Sit where you are asked to in the classroom

  • Always listen and follow the teacher’s instructions

  • Never stop others learning

  • Bring the correct equipment for each lesson

  • Do your best every day with every piece of work

  • Respect all others

  • Bullying of any kind is not tolerated

  • Low level disruption is not tolerated

Out of school, locally or away with a school group, you should remember that our reputation depends on the way you behave.

The Behaviour Policy also includes full details of the rewards and sanctions that we use to encourage good behaviour.

House System

All students and staff are allocated to a House. The four Houses take their names from famous people from the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area.

The House system encourages a sense of identity and collaboration. Each Tutor Group is aligned to one of the Houses and there is a number of House competitions organised each year to encourage cross-year collaboration and achievement.
