Parent Governor Nominees (November 2025 Election)
Mrs Sabrina Kaur Sandhu
As both a parent and an education professional, I’m passionate about ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. I am putting myself forward for the role of Parent Governor because I believe strongly in the power of partnership between families, schools, and the wider community to create the best possible outcomes for young people. With my son currently in Year 8, I’m fully committed to giving my time, experience, and energy to this important role.
I have taught in the Further Education sector for over 13 years and currently lecture in Travel, Tourism, and Aviation at Nottingham College. My career has given me a strong understanding of how education can transform lives, particularly through vocational learning. I am passionate about helping and inspiring young people develop practical skills, confidence, and ambition - especially those who may not follow a traditional academic route but have the drive and determination to succeed. I believe these routes are equally valuable and can inspire confidence, ambition, and lifelong success for many young people.
I understand and empathise with the challenges that young people face today, both within education and beyond. Through my experience working closely with learners, I have developed a deep awareness of the barriers that can affect their confidence, motivation, and progress. I am passionate about creating opportunities that empower young people to overcome those challenges and realise their full potential. I believe in supporting every student to discover their strengths, develop resilience, and grow into confident, capable individuals who believe in themselves and their future. I would bring empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to help The Kimberley School continue to provide a supportive and inspiring environment for every student.
I would be honoured to be a Parent Governor and to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students to help The Kimberley School continue to be a place where every child feels inspired to learn, grow, and achieve their best.
