Work Experience

Work experience is invaluable to further education and prospective employers. For example, upon writing personal statements it allows students to expand on skills they have developed alongside their academic studies. It also demonstrates your enthusiasm for and commitment to that area of study and training.
Why work experience matters to Universities/Apprenticeship providers:
It is important aim to have your work experience organised by Thursday 26th March. Please let Miss Marriott know the details as soon as you can so that she can contact the company and ensure that all the checks are in place.
This week has been timetabled in the School Calendar to suspend lessons for Year 12 students to allow time for a work experience week. Before this week you will be involved in completing coursework and exams. During the following week, your teachers will begin your Year 13 work. Therefore, the allocated week is the least disruptive..
Why you need to arrange placement for this week in particular:
Mon 29th June - Fri 3rd July

Dear [insert name if known] OR Sir/Madam
My name is [insert your name] and I am currently a student at The Kimberley School Sixth Form, studying A-Levels in [insert your subjects]. In addition to our studies, we are encouraged to organise and take part in a week-long Work Experience placement, in order to gain an insight into the potential career we wish to pursue.
